We are pioneering advances in the emerging field of Bioelectronics - "the future of medicine".

Bioelectronics is an exciting new area of medicine. Ongoing breakthroughs in this field are transforming the way we think about and treat the human body. 

Bioelectronic medicine influences the body's Nervous System in the control of its core biological processes, such as inflammation, and can even promote tissue regeneration.

An important benefit of bioelectronic medicine is the lack of negative side effects.

Our strengths lie in two specific areas:

We use peripheral nerve stimulation. This non-invasive approach reduces the risks and costs associated with implanted devices, and makes our technology more widely accessible.

Our technology is biomimetic. We mimic the body's own nerve signals to motivate a number of biological processes. This is different to traditional electrical stimulation approaches, such as TENS machines, which use direct current (DC) to block pain signals or force muscle contraction.

Our target clinical application is Dry Age-related Macular Degeneration (Dry AMD).

Our technology has been shown to improve blood flow, reduce inflammation and promote growth of nerve cells ("neurogenesis"). Although the cause of Dry AMD is not known, it is thought that a lack of blood supply to the retina is a major factor in the progression of the disease.

We are currently preparing for clinical studies to test our technology as a potential treatment for Dry AMD, for which there is currently no approved treatment.

Intelligent and empathic product design is at the core of our New Product Development Process.

The treatment programmes in our devices are controlled by proprietary software. As our understanding of specific diseases and pathways develops, we can upload new treatment parameters to deliver improved therapeutic outcomes for patients.

We can also interface with diagnostic technologies to synchronise appropriate treatment in real-time.

The success of each of our products will be based on their ability to meet the various needs of all key stakeholders, including the patient, clinical professionals, healthcare providers, and bodies responsible for regulation and reimbursement.

Our experience and track-record in developing product systems and product experiences ensures that we develop safe, elegant and regulated products that will be both clinically effective and commercially successful.
